CLUTTERMAN UNCLUTTERED CORNER
CRITICAL TRAINING
There are many skills that we want to achieve. There are some that are critically vital to learn for our health and survival and for those of others. Amongst these are learning Basic First Aid techniques, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and the newly developed Automated External Defibrillation (AED) skills. According to the American Red Cross, “each year, approximately 500,000 adult Americans die as a result of coronary heart disease. Almost half of these deaths, about 250,000, occur suddenly from cardiac arrest.” This is the reason why learning this programmed skill is so essential.
The primary objectives of First Aid, CPR, AED training are to empower the individual with the knowledge and skills necessary to help sustain life and minimize the results of accidents, sudden illness, or injuries, until more advanced medical assistance arrives. This course enhances ones’ self safety awareness, and includes recognizing (and avoiding) harmful conditions, and the appropriate and rapid response to various emergent situations.
Especially notable is the strong emphasis on how to utilize the AED device---found in many public buildings and work areas. The AED machine is relatively easy to use, and comes replete with instructions (often supplemented by illustrations depicting the sequence and handling of the device). In an emergency, the use of the AED machine supplements performing CPR, each providing life saving stimulation to the victim.
Sign up for this 4-8 hour course. It would be time very well spent!
